In 2010, the Braun Satin Hair 7 Iontec Hair Brush was voted Product of the Year by the Consumer Survey of Product Innovation both in Germany and the Netherlands. It is designed to protect the hair while adding instant smoothness and shine to each strand.

IONTEC TECHNOLOGY

This product is the first of Braun’s non-heat related styling tools to use Iontec technology. Ions are neutral atoms that can take on either a positive or negative charge depending on its environment. Hair generates its own charge of positive atoms on the surface of each individual hair strand causing the strands to repel each other producing static.

Because ions are always trying to get back to a neutral state, they interact with the surface of the hair absorbing the positive charge and keeping the hairs from repelling each other.

Braun’s patented Iontec technology combined with other uniquely designed features of the hair brush work together to deliver the maximum benefits of ion technology to the hair. The ions are released via an active ion jet, one of the key features of this hair brush. When activated, this built-in electrical jet system instantly distributes millions of ions.

The negatively charged ions create a cloud that surrounds the hair and works constantly to reduce static build up and fly aways. The active jet is controlled by an on/off switch that has a locking function to reduce the risk of the brush switching on accidentally while carrying it.

SPECIALLY DESIGNED FEATURES

In addition to the active jet system, the creators of the Braun Satin Hair 7 Iontec Hair Brush also incorporated seamless brush technology into its design. Its smooth bristles are created to reduce damage to the cuticles of the hair during brushing. This lightweight, portable brush is also equipped with a soft, removable cushion pad that prevents the snagging and pulling of the hair.

THE VERDICT

This is the one thing that I have to hide from my girls. We LOVE this brush and use it multiple times daily. Although the price tag is a little hefty at $63, this is a case where technology really pays off. My hair is shiny and looks amazing every time I use this brush.

SEE IT IN ACTION

This is one of the most innovative products I’ve seen in a long time.  The Grobag Egg is incredibly useful and it looks really neat in a baby nursery.  I am obsessed with the Grobag Egg in Madelyn’s room.   I have the Grobag Egg on Madelyn’s armoire so I can easily see if the room is too hot or cold.  Lately, it’s been way to hot so the Grobag Egg glows bright red and has a frown.  The Grobag Egg helped me prove to Tim that Madelyn’s room was too hot especially for her to sleep in and he finally accepted that the air had to be turned down.  Before I could show him the Grobag Egg thermometer to prove that her room was too hot, he said it was just me.. I was the only one that was hot.

When we started using the Grobag Egg thermometer I would yell downstairs to Tim and tell him how hot it was in her room which ultimately led to the air being turned down!  Thank goodness.  When her room reaches an acceptable temperature, around 75°F, the egg is a little lighter in color but still has a frown, and when the room is at the most ideal temperature, 61-67°F, the egg is a very vibrant yellow and has a smile.

The Grobag Egg thermometer glows softly and the temperature is backlit so I can see it easily at night while it provides a nice nighlight for Madelyn.
