Don’t you hate it when you put your glass under an ice dispenser, push the dispenser button and next thing you know, there are 20 ice cubes in your glass and on the floor? That’s what happens when I use my mom’s ice dispenser. Like anything, I got used to it over time.

Now that I have a beautiful Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator with an ice dispenser at my house I can actually limit the number of ice cubes that come out! If I want one ice cube, I tap my glass against the dispenser and one ice cube comes out! It’s awesome. I know this sounds trivial but I hate it when ice cubes come pouring out of the dispenser and fill up the glass so fast that they can’t all fit and then they end up on the floor.

Here is a quick video demonstration of the ‘one ice cube phenomenon’. I sound very Zen like.. like I’m instructing a yoga class or something so don’t fall asleep. The video is about 16 seconds long. Enjoy.

I’ve had a great time with my new Frigidaire appliances. I buy more food, cook more (we don’t live off hummus and carrots anymore!), and have washed more laundry than ever.  I can’t wait for my new dishwasher!   I am much more motivated to do laundry on a regular basis, and to cook since I have a new refrigerator, range, microwave, and washer and dryer.  I’m so much more motivated to do laundry now that I know I’m going to see a brand new shiny red Affinity washer and dryer than I was when I was using a 20+ year old washing machine and several year old dryer.

The ultimate gadgets have arrived!

As you may know from my other blog TheMommyInsider.com, I am a Frigidaire Test Drive Mom and have been waiting every so patiently for my new Frigidaire washer, dryer, refrigerator, microwave, range, and dishwasher to arrive.  Today was the day, with the exception of the dishwasher and the range which will arrive in July.

Here’s how this morning went down:
Tim, my husband, ran in our bedroom at about 8:05 (it’s amazing he was awake) this morning annoyingly calling my name over and over.. Alicia, Alicia, Alicia! I didn’t want to wake up. The first morning I’ve slept in until 8:00 in a very long time and he’s trying to wake me up? About 30 seconds later I heard Willie (the appliance installer) call out “Your new appliances are here!” like they do on the Home Make-Over show. That got me out of bed in record time.

Willie the main installman (word or not?), our fabulous appliance installers, and Tim from Electrolux/Frigidaire, installed our new Frigidaire Washer and Dryer quicker than I ever could have imagined.

It’s 8:45am and we’re having a party in my garage! My adrenaline is pumping and I can’t wait to report back to you when everything is installed and working!
